Reds stopper Mignolet linked with shock move to Barcelona

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has emerged as a shock target for Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

The Belgian is expected the leave Anfield before the summer transfer window closes following the 67m pounds arrival of Brazilian No.1 Alisson.

Mignolet fell down the Reds pecking order anyway last season, losing his number one spot to Loris Karius, and the signing of Alisson arrival means he is now third choice at the Merseyside club.

Barcelona are looking to make Mignolet their new No.2.

Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen is set to leave the Nou Camp this summer, and the LaLiga champions want the out-of-favour Liverpool man to take his place.

There is no suggestion of doubt over Marc-Andrew ter Stegen’s status as Barca’s first-choise keeper.

Cillessen is set to leave having become frustrated at his lack of games, and they need another back-up glovesman.

Marca claim Mignolet top their lists of targets, which also features Wolfsburg’s Koen Casteels and Yann Sommer of Borussia Mönchengladbach.

His exit would leave the Reds with two first-team goalkeepers, after 25-year-old Danny Ward sealed a 10m pounds move to Leicester this week.
