Real Madrid 'line up 269m pounds Neymar bid'

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a world-record 269m pounds move for PSG winger Neymar before the end of the European transfer window on August 31.

Madrid saw club-record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo join Juventus earlier this summer, and they have so far been unable to bring in a replacement despite links with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard.

PSG, Real Madrid and Neymar himself have all ruled out a move this summer amid fierce speculation that the Brazilian could return to Spain, but reports that Madrid president Florentino Perez is now considering an approach once again.

Real's 4-2 UEFA Super Cup defeat to city rivals Atletico Madrid is thought to have convinced Perez that reinforcements are needed ahead of the new season.

PSG are unwilling to entertain any offers for Neymar - even above the world-record 200m pounds sum they paid to sign him from Barcelona last summer - but could be in line for a significant punishment due to Financial Fair Play rules.
