Pique recovers from Spain’s World Cup heartache with a trip to watch Wimbledon Open

With Spain having no World Cup quarter-final to prepare for, Gerard Pique briefly swapped sports and took in some of the action at sunny Wimbledon on Wednesday.

The La Roja squad returned home from Russia earlier this week and began their individual holidays, with Pique, minus partner Shakira, choosing to spend time at SW19 on day three of the championships.

He was snapped hobnobbing with the likes of Carole and Michael Middleton - parents of the Duchess of Cambridge - in the Royal Box above Centre Court at SW19 as women's seventh seed Karolina Pliskova battled Victoria Azarenka.
