Napoli appointed Ancelotti after sacking Chelsea target Sarri

Napoli have moved swiftly to hire Carlo Ancelotti merely hours after confirming the sacking of Maurizio Sarri.

The Serie A outfit parted ways with Chelsea target Sarri despite finishing just 4 points behind Juventus at the top of the table and they have now hired a former Chelsea manager to replace him.

The former Real Madrid and PSG manager moves to the San Paolo after seeing his most recent post at Bayern Munich being cut short as he was sacked midway through last season.

Sarri, meanwhile, is expected to find work quickly and Chelsea are the favourites to ensure his swift return to management.

Antonio Conte has yet to officially leave his role as Chelsea head coach, but despite securing the FA Cup just days ago he is expected to be given his marching orders. His relationship with the Chelsea board soured after he publicly berated their transfer strategy after a miserable summer last year – and he is set to be moved on.
