Man City close in on 120m pound double transfer as Guardiola aims to complete summer deals

Pep Guardiola wants to sign Jorginho and Riyard Mahrez before the World Cup.

The Man City manager wants to get his summer business completed early to ensure his EPL champions make the best possible start to their title defence.

With neither player involved in Russia, Guardiola has the bonus of including them on the club’s tour to the USA, which is why he is so eager to conclude a double deal worth around 120m pound.

Jorginho’ agent Joao Santos will meet with Napoli next week to discuss his move to the Etihad. The final stumbling block is the Italian club’s asking price, which at around 60m pound is 10m pound more than City expected to pay.

Mahrez remains high on Guardiola list of attacking target after missing out on the Algerian in January.

City refused to meet Leicester’s 90m pound valuation—but a compromise deal is edging closer.
