Liverpool are reportedly edging
closer to a deal for Lyon sensation Nabil Fekir. Fekir is Liverpool’s priority
attacking target ahead of the 2018/19 campaign and it’s understood the forward
is set to be Jurgen Klopp’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman was desperate to help secure Lyon’s place in next season’s
Champions League before leaving and a 3-2 victory over Nice on Saturday
night was enough to qualify.
Fekir was coy when asked about his future ahead of the match but, according to
French outlet Canal Plus, the striker’s move to Anfield is now ’99 per cent’
done. It’s understood the France international will move to Merseyside for a
fee of around £62million.
Lyon boss Bruno Genesio hinted that Fekir could be one of many players to
leave the club in the coming months. ‘We have to put aside everything related
to emotion. For some, this may be the last game,’ he said before the victory
over Nice.
