Liverpool complete deal for striker hours after deadline

Danny Ings has joined Southampton has joined Southampton initially for a season long loan which will be made a permanent move in July 2019 for 20m pounds.

While there weren’t any incomings for Liverpool on deadline day, the Reds did see Ings seal a move to the South Coast.

The former Burnley man handed in a transfer request earlier in the summer and with it clear that Salah, Firmino and Sadio Mané aren’t about to be usurped as Klopp’s first choice front three, he has left in search of more regular game time.

Ings arrived at Liverpool in 2015 after a great season with Burnley and was expected to do big things with the Reds but two serious knee injuries put paid to that and he is now on a mission to resurrect what was a hugely promising career.
