Leicester tried to sign World Cup superstar Aleksandr Golovin during the summer 

Leicester failed with an approach for Russia star Aleksandr Golovin this summer.

The midfielder was hot property in the most recent transfer window after shining at the World Cup.

Chelsea and Juventus were heavily linked with the 22-year-old, who eventually left CSKA Moscow to join Monaco for around 25m pounds.

The Foxes were reportedly tracking the Russian in the hope they could lure him to the King Power Stadium.

However, Golovin was said to be keen to play in the Champions League and that swayed in Monaco’s favour.
