Kompany named in final 23-man Belgium squad despite groin injury




Belgium have confirmed their 23-man squad for the World Cup but Roberton Martinez has dropped two EPL stars.


The Spanish head coach trimmed his group down from an initial 28, with Crystal Palace strikerstriker Christian Beneteke missing out, along with Watford defender Christian Kabasele.


With Vincent Kompany injured in their most recent friendly against Portugal there were fears he would be absent but Martinez has retained him and left Laurent Ciman on stand-by.


Elsewhere, Jordan Lukaku, brother of Romelu was ditched as well as goalkeeper Matz Sels.
