Juventus star Mandzukic wants to join Man United

Man United target Mario Mandzukic is set to tell Juventus that he wants a EPL move this summer.

That is according to Italian publication Calciomercato, who also claim Max Allegri is desperate to keep hold of the talisman.

Juventus reportedly offered the 32-year-old to United last week, with Jose Mourinho said to be keen on a striking a deal.

It is believed Mandzukic is ready for one final challenge in his career with the EPL being the only one of Europe’s top four leagues he is yet to test himself in.

Allegri, though, is prepared to give the Croatian assurances over his playing time and offer him a more prominent role in the side.

The Juventus boss was in the running to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal this summer but failed to reach an agreement with the club over their transfer policy.

The Serie A champions are ready to back Allegri over Mandzukic and club chief Giuseppe Marotta insisted last week the player had expressed no desire to leave.

“The principle for Juventus is always that if a player asks to leave then, of course, we’ll try to satisfy him at the point when motivation has dropped or there are other considerations,” he said.

“At the moment no-one is in that position, so I have to say that Mario Mandzukic will be a Juventus player next year too.”
