Juan Mata 'could seal emotional return to Valencia

Juan Mata may be in line for a sensational return to former club Valencia once his contract expires at Man United next summer.

The Spaniard spent four years at the La Liga side, where he made 174 appearances across all competitions, before leaving for the EPL in a move to Chelsea in 2011.

Mata's current deal at Old Trafford is set to run out at the end of the current campaign and Valencia are keen on a deal to bring him back.

Reports suggest Valencia would only want to bring him in on a free transfer though because of his 130k pounds-a-week wage demands.

A source said: 'It is well known Juan is wanted by Valencia. There is a strong connection between the two. His deal is up next summer and it looks likely he'll leave unless something changes soon.’
