The duo of Mo Salah of Liverpool and Gabriel Jesus of Man City
were the heroes on the final day of the 2017-19 EPL.
A dramatic 94th minute winner from Jesus gave EPL
champions Man City a 1-0 win over Southampton to ensure they became the first
team over to reach 100 points in an English top flight season.
As well as winning the most points by an English top flight side
in a single campaign, City’s 32nd win broke Tottenham’s 57-year
record for victories in a single top flight season.
Egyptian sensation, Salah also set a new record of 32 goals in a
38-game EPL season when he fired the first of Liverpool’s 4-0 defeat of
Brighton at Anfield yesterday. The victory sealed Champions League place for
Victory meant the Reds matched their fourth place finish of last
season—they would have moved up to third had Tottenham not edged a thrilling 5-4
win at home to Leicester.
Also on the last day of the 2017-18 season, Arsenal gave Arsene
Wenger a parting gift in his final game as manager after 22 years in charge by
winning their first points away from home in the EPL in 2018 with a 1-0 win at
