Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to quit LA Galaxy for mega-rich Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC, according to reports.
The charismatic striker has been a revelation in MLS, scoring 16 goals in 21 appearances since his move in March.
The former Man United man is wanted by the club’s billionaire Saudi owner, who is ready to bankroll a huge move.
Turki al-Sheikh is a huge fan of the 36-year-old and MLS have reportedly already sanctioned the move.
Money is no issue to Pyramids FC, who recently appointed former AC Milan and Brazil shot-stopper Dida as their new goalkeeping coach.
Should the deal go through, it would happen at the end of the current MLS season – in December.
Pyramids FC finished 9th in the Egyptian Premier League last season, way behind Al-Alhy who have won the league an incredible 39 times.
The rise to prominence of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Egypt’s qualification to the World Cup over the summer have raised interest levels in the sport, despite their exit at the group stages.
