Hugo Lloris arrested for drink driving ahead of Man United match

Tottenham captain Hugo Llrois has been arrested for drink driving ahead of his side's EPL clash with Man United on Monday.

The 31-year-old is understood to have been stopped by police in his car in central London at around 2.20am on Friday morning.

Lloris subsequently failed a roadside breathalyser test before being taken to Charing Cross Police Station, where he spent around 7 hours in custody.

The shot-stopper - who captained France to World Cup glory this summer - was then released on bail and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 11.

"A man has been charged following a routine patrol stop in Gloucester Place, W1," read a statement from the Metropolitan Police.

It is unclear whether Lloris, who has started both of Tottenham's games so far this season, will be available for Monday's match at Old Trafford.
