Granqvist faces a fine

Andreas Granqvist, Sweden’s captain, was fined 50k pounds earlier in the competition for wearing socks made by an English company.

And Granqvist faces another fine for wearing the same socks against England.

Photos show Granqvist clearly wearing Trusox socks, which are made in Devon.

Trusox, which provide extra grip, are hugely popular among footballers, with Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale and Alexis Sanchez among the stars who wear them.

But Trusox are an independent firm, and FIFA have an issue with the free exposure that Granqvist is granting them.

Sportswear giants will pay a lot of money for their products to be on show at the World Cup.

So Granqvist is being punished for the free publicity he is handing Trusox
