Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Eboue arrested on suspicion of arson

Former Arsenal footballer Emmanuel Eboue has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

Eboue, 35, was held by police probing the alleged attack outside a home in Enfield, north London.

The former defender is being questioned by detectives in custody on suspicion or arson and malicious communications.

Eboue was a very promising talent as a youngster but his career took a serious decline after leaving Arsenal in 2011.

The Ivorian began serving a one-year ban from football in March 2016 for failing to pay a former agent – something which he claimed nearly drove him to suicide.
