Crystal Palace sign Cheilkhou Kouyate from West Ham

Crystal Palace have announced the signing of midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate from West Ham for an undisclosed fee.

The Senegal international captained his side at the World Cup finals in Russia, making an appearance in all three of their group games.

The 28-year-old joined West Ham from Anderlecht for 7m pounds in 2014, and went on to make 129 league appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals.

"I'm so happy. It's been a long day but now everything is good and I'm very excited to start with my new teammates," Kouyate told Palace's official website.

The Eagles also signed 31-year-old goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from La Liga side Getafe on a free transfer earlier this summer.
