Champions League: ReaL Madrid vs Roma

One of the most interesting clashes of the opening round of the Champions League is going to be contested between Real Madrid and Roma.

The hosts are having a pretty successful start of the season as they missed the chance to win just once so far in the Primera Liga. They were held by Athletic Club to a 1-1 draw in the latest round and slipped down to the 2nd spot in the league.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have been pretty productive at the beginning of the season as they produced 7 goals.

On the other hand, Real Madrid have been playing very well in the back as they allowed just 3 goals in 5 matches.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo left the club, we shouldn’t underestimate them in the battle for the Champions League trophy.

After they opened the season in the Serie A with a victory, Roma cannot be proud of their results at the start of the campaign.

In the last three matches they’ve snatches just two points and they spilled a 2-0 advantage against Chievo in the latest round.

Although Eusebio Di Francesco’s side has been pretty productive, their bad defensive work cost them too many points in this stage of the competition.

However, they are still expected to finish in the top two in the group and find their place in the elimination round of the Champions League.

Roma’s last campaign was very successful as they managed to reach the semi-finals with a stunning comeback win against Barcelona.

The crowd have been able to enjoy many clashes of these two sides and they’ve met each other five times in the last four years.

Madrid have been more successful lately as they managed to celebrate three times in a row.

This is going to be a very exciting clash, and both sides should be searching for a win. However, we believe the defending champions are closer to the victory as they are in a much better momentum and all three points should stay at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

These two sides have been usually producing high scoring matches, however their latest clashes haven’t been too efficient. However, in this one, each team should be capable of finding the back of the net at least once in the match.
