Champions League: Liverpool vs PSG

Liverpool host PSG for Champions League derby clash at Anfield on the back of a furious start in EPL, hoping to build on their great spell of results and bag the all-important points in Group C as well.

Reds have bagged 15 points in 5 league outings this term, sharing the top spot with in-form Chelsea, as we’ve seen them beat West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, LeicesteR, and most recently Tottenham Hotspur. They’ve been regularly netting numbers of goals and Jurgen Klopp will be very happy with the tally so far, hoping his men can show off against the French dominants too.

PSG boast a similar record in Ligue 1 early on and we’ve seen them kick off the new campaign with a thrashing 4-0 Super Cup win over Monaco, building on the success on the backs of an in-form attacking trident Mbappe – Cavani – Neymar. They’ve beaten Saint-Etienne 4-0 on Friday evening and this was their seventh consecutive outing where they bagged 3 or more goals, which will be more worrying for the crowd in Liverpool.

Interestingly enough, this will be the sides’ first head-to-head contest ever.

Both sides boast great records early in their domestic campaigns, with furious goalscoring spells of form.

PSG have a lot to prove in Champions League and Thomas Tuchel will hope they can make a statement in England. However, we do feel Liverpool will now be able to capitalize on their more troubled performances on the road and edge this one their way, as we go for a Home win at 2.30. Reds have been in great shape against the big guns too and this could prove crucial early in their Champions League season as well.
