Bordeaux: Henry no, Ranieri yes?

Bordeaux could reportedly turn their attentions to Claudio Ranieri as a deal for Thierry Henry becomes harder to clinch.

According to L’Equipe, Henry remains the ‘dream’ for Bordeaux, but negotiations for the ex-Juventus, Arsenal and France striker are getting ‘more complicated’.

Although Les Girondins ‘don’t seem ready to give up’, the newspaper claims they are carrying out a separate round of talks with Ranieri.

The Italian has experience of Ligue 1 with Monaco and most recently Nantes, while he famously led Leicester to the EPL title 2 years ago.

However, it may be too late for Bordeaux as the 66-year-old could have already agreed to become Sporting CF's netx coach.

The French club are in turmoil after suspending Gus Poyet, who branded their owners a ‘disgrace’ for selling a player against his wishes.
