Barcelona want EPL hitman to replace Suarez next season

Barcelona are reportedly looking at EPL duo Harry Kane and Roberto Firmino as potential replacements for Luis Suarez, with the 31-year old set to leave the club next season.

Spanish newspaper Don Balon are reporting that Tottenham’s Kane and Liverpool frontman Firmino are the top of Barcelona’s list to take Suarez’s place as they look to sign a younger striker.

They are also reporting that Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi and Redbull Leipzig striker Timo Werner are other options that Barcelona could look to as they search for a new frontman.

Kane's tremendous goalscoring form for Spurs over the last number of seasons has attracted interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs already and he would no doubt be an excellent addition to the Barcelona forward line as natural number nine to play alongside the likes of Messi and Dembele.

One could argue, however, that Roberto Firmino would be better suited to playing in Barcelona’s front line as a more versatile number nine who could play anywhere across the three, similar to his current role at Liverpool which has heralded him tremendous success over the last couple of seasons.

Luis Suarez, the man they could potentially be replacing, has had an excellent 5 seasons at Barcelona, scoring 155 goals in 204 games since his arrival from Liverpool.
