Arsenal join Marseille and Dortmund in race to sign Juventus defender

Arsenal have already signed one player from Juventus and fresh reports indicate they're interested in another.

Stephan Lichtsteiner, who had spent the last 7 years with Italian giants, became Unai Emery's first as Gunners head coach when his transfer to the Emirates Stadium was announced a few weeks ago.

The 34-year-old defender will be joined in north London by goalkeeper Bernd Leno, while a 16m pounds deal for Dortmund's Sokratis Papastathopoulos is expected to go through early next month.

However, reports in Italy - as reported by Calciomercato - claim that the Gunners have joined Marseille and Dortmund in the race to sign Juventus centre-back Medhi Benatia.

It's understood that the Old Lady will listen to offers of around 25m euros for the 31-year-old who made the permanent move to Turin from Bayern Munich just last summer following a loan spell in the 2016/2017 campaign.

In the season just gone Benatia made 32 appearances across all competitions and was the hero in the Coppa Italia win over AC Milan as he netted twice to help Juventus seal a league and cup double.
